Hypex Bio has invented and patented the world’s first commercially- available hydrogen peroxide-based explosives. A safe, sustainable and efficient alternative to the ammonium nitrate-based explosives that dominates the world’s mines, quarries, tunnels and construction sites.

Stable hydrogen peroxide emulsions are the core of our innovation, but the true value lies in our integrated platform where chemistry, process equipment and smart support work seamlessly together to provide a complete solution for blasting operations.

Chemistry

Hypex Bio supplies several critical raw materials needed to form our hydrogen peroxide emulsions, including the fuel phase, gassing agent, and destruction fluid. Our chemical products are adapted to customer expectations for crucial product properties such as energy and VOD.

Our emulsions can achieve over 90 %fossil-free status, offering a nearly circular solution that aligns with global sustainability goals.

Process equipment

Our process equipment ensures the precise and efficient application of Hypex Bio explosives. We design and produce state-of-the-art delivery systems for underground applications and surface charging (MEMU systems). Aligned with current industry standards, designed for flexibility, and supported by our customer centric organization, our equipment easily integrates into existing operations and performs consistently in a wide variety of conditions.

Implementation and application support

We understand the challenges in dealing with energetic materials and what is required to successfully integrate new technology into commercial operations. To smooth this process, we offer committed and competent support throughout all steps of the implementation process. Our value chain

The Hypex Bio platform is designed to ensure a robust and reliable supply and value chain for nitrate-free emulsion explosives. Our platform covers everything from the input, preparation and storage of raw materials, to the production of non-explosive emulsions, which are subsequently chemical sensitized by a charging unit while charging blast holes.
